HIP-tionary is a minor reference to hip lingo used in different regions around the country or (soon) internationally. This page is designed for you, the customer. It exists simply to make you smile or perhaps laugh out loud. Below you'll find a 'starter list' of 10 words or phrases, followed by definitions and examples of how they're used in conversation.

Whether you're entertained, confused or not amused, we welcome you to add your improvements to the list. Feel free to submit your own list of terms to hipdic@hipzippervintage.biz. If they're rated PG, I'll post them as soon as I can. Please keep your list to a maximum of 10 terms.

1. cutrid (adj.) something so cute, it's putrid

"Owners dressing their pets in sweaters, one for every day of the week, might be considered cutrid."

2. 4x4 (adj.) something or someone completely 'square', out-of-date, not popular anymore

"Yanni, Rick Astley, and a lot of today's country music might be considered '4x4' square."

3. fatty, fatty boomb-a-latty (n.) so out of shape, one has their own gravitational force field

"Fatty, fatty boomb-a-lattys might want to lay off of the cupcakes and steer clear of horizontal stripes in their wardrobe."

4. extra Cadillac-Jack (adj.) super swank, prime, crème-of-the-crop

"Grandpa's shark-skin Easter suit might be considered extra Cadillac-Jack."

5. spodey-odey-doublicious (adj.) an endearing term reserved mostly to describe female specimens

"Ginger Grant on 'Gillian's Island' is definitely spodey-odey-doublicious."

6. Elvis (adj.) dead, not likely to rise again

"Puff-paint sweatshirts and light-up sneakers might both be considered 'Elvis'. If not, the idea should be considered."

7. smurf: a term used as a substitute for any other word in the human language

"I'm smurfin' to the store to get some snacks", or "I'm going to the store to smurf some snacks."

8. moogly-googly(adj.) having severe proportional issues with the face or body; 'wonky-eyed' or 'wall-eyed' may also apply

"Jane Hathaway of 'The Beverly Hillbillies' might be considered moogly-googly."

9. "Bringing the car to the curb" indicates your significant other's ultimatum for you to wise up and act right, or you're history.

10. When someone or something is "tiltin' heavy on the skank scale," well, fill in your own definition for this one, but as a rule, it's not pretty...
